Operatic Interludes

Often in operas, the scene is set or changed by means of music alone without any singing. Some of these musical interludes are wonderfully descriptive, touching the soul and provoking the imagination. This talk explores some examples of such interludes by Massenet, Wagner, Delius and Britten, among others.
