In almost every opera, there is a chorus as well as the main performers. Different composers use choruses in different ways, some better than others. This talk is a quick tour (with musical examples) of some of the better known and loved choruses from some of the world’s greatest operas, by Gounod, Bizet, Puccini, Mascagni, Wagner, Beethoven and, of course, Verdi.
