An Introduction to the Art of the Italian Renaissance

This talk asks and tries to answer the question, “What was the Renaissance?” There is quite a difference between what the Renaissance was and what Renaissance artists thought it was. This talk looks at just three arts (architecture, sculpture and painting), comparing Classical, Medieval and Renaissance examples in an attempt to establish a clear sense of what the Italian Renaissance was.
